About

Greetings from the Dean

Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in Illinois Baptist College. My name is Jason Shults and am the dean of the college. As a graduate of this institution, I can tell you personally the education you will receive here will give you a better understanding of God, His Word and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul told his young friend Timothy:

“The things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2)

That is our goal at Illinois Baptist College. Through the authority of Beverly Manor Baptist Church, the college prepares the Lord’s people for the work of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

I would like to know more about you. Please send an email and let me know about yourself and any questions you may have of us. I ask you to prayfully consider if the Lord would have you come study His Word with us.

A servant of the Servant,

Jason W. Shults

Our College

Illinois Baptist College is a four-year, degree-granting, church-sponsored Bible college offering degrees in the area of theology and Christian education for church ministries. The mission of IBC is to prepare Christians biblically, academically, practically and spiritually for a place of ministry that God has prepared for them.

Our History

With II Timothy 2:15 in mind members of Beverly Manor Missionary Baptist Church were convinced of the need of a training station for Christian workers. In the late winter of 1964, the church instructed her pastor Dr. Wayne Camp, to begin making preliminary plans for the school. With the aid of Dr. William Canard of Peoria, these plans were made; and in April 1965 Beverly Manor Missionary Baptist Church voted to establish the Illinois Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary. The church agreed to furnish facilities for classrooms, and classes were held for the first time in September 1965.

Our Purpose

The major purpose of the Illinois Baptist College is to train Christian workers to rightly divide the Word of Truth (II Timothy 2:15). To accomplish our purpose, we have a two-fold focus. We focus first of all on the needs of ministerial students. Those who have been called to preach God’s Word need a sound Biblical education, and it is our goal to provide preachers with the opportunity for such training. We offer a two year Associate and four year Bachelor Degrees. Study in Bible languages is available to students desiring them.
